Now based in Toronto, Richard works primarily with cast acrylics, which is similar to working with glass. Cast acrylic requires repeated hand colouring, sanding and polishing to achieve the end result; something Richard has dedicated himself to perfecting.

 

Having worked with ceramic sculptures for 10 years, Richard became intrigued by the transparency and light absorbing quality of plastics. He began designing jewellery in Plexiglas, then progressed to colouring and casting his own resins, producing home accessories and small scale sculptures.
